Frequently
Asked Questions
1.
1. Will the Strategy of Jesus continue or will it end like
Acts 20:20??
It will continue because the Strategy
of Jesus is not another program; it is a lifestyle that the Apostolic
Assembly has committed to follow. One of the Strategy of Jesus’ goals
is to convert all Assembly churches into cell churches.
2. Will there be a follow-up for the Strategy of Jesus?
Yes. Several districts have already received follow-up sessions
and others have already scheduled them for the near future.
Several groups of pastors have also received follow-up sessions.
This web page was designed to offer follow-up information.
Regional Strategy of Jesus congress sessions will be developed
along with feedback and evaluations at our General Convention.
3.
What about home Bible studies? Where do they fit?
Some pastors have doctrinal classes to prepare persons for
baptism and others give individual home Bible studies, such
as Trees
of Righteousness.
4. What is the right number for a Friendship
Group?
Depending on the meeting place, a Friendship Group can vary
from 5-12 persons. The recommended number is an average of
7-8, if
you want to attend to them better.
5. What material can we use
to train leaders?
The “Strategy of Jesus” and “Equip” seminars, “Disciple
your Disciplers”, the manual “Executive Workshop” and
the Expositor “Do the Work of an Evangelist”
6. Do
you have to cancel mid-week activities?
Not necessarily, as long as these activities do not interfere
with ministry in the homes. It is recommended that you minimize
the activities as much as possible to make room for the Strategy
of Jesus. It is recommended that you have no more than one
service during the week.
7. How many persons are needed to begin the
Strategy of Jesus?
You can start with a leader and a family that will host the
Friendship Group.
8.
What if we don’t have ministers to use as group
leaders?
Begin with the members of the church. You don’t
have to be a minister to lead.
9. Can women be used as group leaders?
Yes. It is recommended, though, that you establish Friendship
Groups for women.
10. Where do I begin?
You begin by bringing awareness to the congregation by preaching
the four messages of the Spiritual Strategy. You make a call
to the general membership to commit to participating in the
Strategy of Jesus and the Equip seminars. You select leaders
and train
them for the Evangelistic Cycle, which ends with Friend Day.
You integrate the new visitors, using them to start new Friendship
Groups.
11. Will the Assembly provide tools, training and mentorship
type of support?
Yes. A Strategy of Jesus committee has been formed which is
training the bishops and pastors of our Apostolic Assembly.
12. Have Friendship
Groups caused divisions?
No. The Friendship Groups have united congregations in the
same purpose.
13. Is this model Trinitarian?
No. It’s as Apostolic as the early church of the
book of the Acts of the Apostles. True, some Trinitarian churches
are
implementing this Apostolic model, even though they continue
in doctrinal error.
14. Is G-12 the Strategy of Jesus?
No. G-12 is a cell church governing system where the pastor
grants authority to 12 persons, who gather 12 disciples,
who gather
12, etc. The Strategy of Jesus begins in a home with a leader,
a host and three other persons that commit to inviting non-convert
friends. G-12 requires that the group always be 12, no more
and no less. |
